We are delighted to announce that Jennifer Suzor is being honoured by AFCC-O for her significant contributions to families in Ontario. On October 21, 2016 she will receive the President’s Award at the AFCC-O conference being held in Toronto.
The Association of Family and Conciliation Courts (AFCC) Ontario Chapter is an interdisciplinary and international association of professionals dedicated to the resolution of family conflict. AFCC members share a strong commitment to education, innovation, and collaboration in order to benefit communities, empower families, and promote a healthy future for children.
Over many months, Jennifer has been working in her home town of Windsor, Ontario to change the culture of dispute resolution for families. Bringing together family dispute resolution professionals such as lawyers, mediators, psychologists, and social workers, she has been encouraging professionals to work across disciplines to develop child-focused, long-term solutions for families. Turn out for these events has been excellent, suggesting that professionals want to see a shift in the dispute resolution culture, and a new, more positive way of working with families at separation.
